About Us.

WHAT WE ARE...

The Statistics, Research, and Information Directorate (SRID) is a key directorate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), mandated to provide accurate, timely, and policy-relevant agricultural data, research findings, and information services to support decision-making, planning, and development within Ghana’s agricultural sector. The Directorate was created in 1999 in response to the Civil Service Law (PNDC Law 135 of 1985) that requires a statistics and information directorate within the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA).

As the analytical backbone of MOFA, SRID plays a vital role in shaping the future of agriculture through evidence-based insights. We ensure that agricultural policies and programs are grounded in reliable data, rigorous research, and comprehensive information systems that reflect the realities and potential of Ghana’s farming communities.

There are four divisions, each performing different roles to achieve the overall mandate at the directorate: the Agricultural Statistics and Census Unit, the Marketing Unit, the ICT and Data Management Unit, and the Research Unit.

Our Vision
